How Long Until You Receive Edited Photos from Cáo Studio
By the Cáo Studio team · Hanoi & Saigon · 2026-11-02
Cáo Studio delivers edited photos within 2 to 4 weeks after your shoot date, depending on package size and concept difficulty. Raw files arrive faster (within 1 week for simple sessions), but the full edited gallery—color-graded, retouched, and organized—takes longer because we edit each image individually in Hanoi or Saigon. You receive files via secure online link or USB drive, payable by card, bank transfer, or cash. Peak seasons (Tet, December weddings) may extend timelines by a few days. Always confirm your specific delivery date and format during booking; clarify whether you need RAW files sooner, because that changes the schedule. Chat with us on WhatsApp
What does "edited" really mean in our workflow?
When we say "edited," we don't hand you photos straight from the camera. Our team in Hanoi or Saigon color-grades every frame, adjusts skin tone and lighting, removes distracting details, and organizes the final gallery before it reaches you. This is different from a quick export. We spend roughly 2–4 hours editing a 200-photo ao dai session, which is why a couple expecting 300 images across two outfits waits longer than someone with a 50-photo makeup-only slot. The promise: every image you see has been looked at by human eyes.

Why does timeline vary by shoot type?
Ao dai and concept shoots: 2–3 weeks. Hanoi and Saigon studios both handle these, and they require thematic color grading (matching fabric tones, historical context, mood consistency). A Hoi An street shoot with five outfit changes takes more passes than a single-location, single-look session.
Couple and pre-wedding sessions: 3–4 weeks. These include emotion-heavy retouching—skin smoothing, shadow fill, storytelling through tone—because couples expect polished, album-ready images.
Family and vacation photoshoots: 2–3 weeks. Fewer images per person, simpler lighting setup, faster turnaround.
Makeup and hair at hotel, proposal setups: 1–2 weeks. These are smaller galleries (50–100 photos) with minimal retouching; the focus is speed because you need prints or announcements fast.
Book your special concept shoot if you're planning a complex, multi-location or themed session and need clarity on exact delivery.
How do we actually manage the editing queue?
We don't edit shoots in order of booking—we batch them by type. Every Monday in Hanoi and Thursday in Saigon, our retouchers review the past week's sessions and sort them: concept shoots, weddings, simple portraits. Then we assign editors based on complexity. A single-photographer, single-location portrait lands on someone's desk immediately; a 3-photographer, multi-day elopement waits for our lead editor to review color-grade samples first. This batch approach keeps quality consistent but means your shoot might move behind a 20-person family group shot if both arrived the same week. We tell you this on WhatsApp during booking—it's honest and means no surprises.

What delays happen and how do we tell you?
Rain or light changes during the shoot: We spend 30 extra minutes on location, which adds 2–3 photos to your gallery. Our team flags these to the editor: "Extra 50 frames, client approves." Editing time extends by half a day.
Outfit or location changes you request on the day: We shoot it, but you pay a small surcharge, and the turnaround extends by 3–5 days because we weren't prepared for the extra color-grading pass.
Your final choices come in late: If you choose which outfits to edit after the shoot (instead of before), we wait. Once you confirm, editing starts fresh; that's another 1–2 weeks added.
Peak season (December, Tet, October): Our entire Hanoi and Saigon teams are booked solid. We've been clear in our WhatsApp conversations since August about a 4–5 week wait. If you book in November for December delivery, that's not happening—we tell you so upfront.
We never silently delay. Within 3 days of your shoot, you get a WhatsApp message: "Editing starts tomorrow, expect delivery [date]." If something shifts, you hear it.

Should you order RAW files or edited gallery?
| Deliverable | Who it's for | Typical wait | What you get | What to know |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| RAW files only | Professionals, editors, those who want to grade themselves | 5–7 days | Unprocessed, full-resolution images from camera | No Cáo Studio editing; larger file size; requires editing software |
| Edited gallery (standard) | Couples, families, travelers, anyone wanting prints or social media | 2–4 weeks | Color-graded, retouched, organized in folders per outfit or location | Sized for web and print; ready to use same day you receive |
| RAW + edited gallery | Perfectionist clients, brand campaigns, those wanting backup | 3 weeks (RAW after 7 days, edited after 21) | Both versions; control + professional backup | Higher cost; two delivery dates; best for high-stakes sessions |
| JPEG proofs only | Budget-conscious, quick turnaround, wedding day sample | 3–5 days | Low-res, unretouched preview | Not for printing; no skin retouching; used to approve which images to fully edit |
Most clients choose the edited gallery. Professionals in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi running campaigns sometimes add RAW. Wedding clients wanting prints and social media together pick the combo.

How do we send your files?
Online link (most common): We upload your gallery to a secure server within 2–4 weeks and send you a download link via WhatsApp. You have 2 weeks to download; after that, files are archived (we store them, but redownload is a small fee). This works for international guests paying by card or online link—no shipping delays.
USB drive (print optional): We ship USB drives to the US in 5–10 days for free, or to other countries with a small surcharge. The drive arrives faster than editing is done, so we wait until your gallery is ready, then ship. Useful if you want a physical backup or plan to give prints as gifts. You can order prints directly from our Hanoi or Saigon studio during your session or after.
In-studio pickup: If you're staying in Vietnam, we hand over your USB or printed samples on the final day. Zero wait; pay by cash or card on the spot.
International guests almost always use the online link. It's fastest and most secure.
What should you check before you book?
- Confirm your exact delivery date and format during the booking conversation. Don't assume—ask: "Will my edited gallery be ready by [date]?" Our team replies with a specific date or honest "likely 4 weeks, possibly 5 in December."
- Tell us if you need prints, albums, or social media crops. This changes the final edit pass. An Instagram grid crop takes one extra pass; an album layout takes another. Both add 2–3 days.
- Clarify if you want RAW files or edited only. RAW comes sooner but ungraded. If you think you might edit yourself later, tell us—we quote differently.
- Plan for edits in batches, not continuous. If you want 100 edited images, then later ask for 50 more from the same shoot, the second batch isn't priority. Lock in your selection before editing starts.
- Understand peak-season reality. December and Tet are 4–5 weeks minimum, non-negotiable. Shoulder seasons (April, July) are closer to 2.5 weeks. Book accordingly.
- Check your payment method and currency. We accept Visa, Mastercard, online payment links, and bank transfers from abroad, plus cash on-site. No hidden fees; ask our team the exact amount before you commit.
Book your couple photoshoot or family session well in advance if you need edited photos by a specific date—our Hanoi and Saigon calendars fill fast in high season.

FAQ
Can you deliver edited photos in 1 week?
Not for a full session. We can send RAW files in 5–7 days, or low-resolution JPEG proofs in 3–5 days for you to approve. Edited, retouched, color-graded photos take 2–4 weeks minimum, no matter the season. There's no shortcut without sacrificing quality.
What's the difference between Hanoi and Saigon delivery times?
Both studios follow the same 2–4 week timeline. Hanoi handles Hanoi bookings; Saigon handles Ho Chi Minh City and southern bookings. Travel between cities doesn't affect editing—it happens locally. Peak season delays happen at both, equally.
Do you charge more for faster editing?
No. Our editing timeline is built into your package. Paying extra does not speed up delivery because we batch-edit by type and availability, not by price. We won't promise 1-week turnaround for any amount—it compromises our retouching standard. Be honest with us about your deadline during booking; we'll tell you if it's possible or not.
Will my international payment delay the editing start?
No. Editing starts after we receive payment, regardless of method. Card and online payments clear instantly; bank transfers take 1–2 days from abroad; we confirm via WhatsApp. Once paid, your shoot goes into the queue. Payment method doesn't affect the 2–4 week editing window.
Can I get some photos sooner and the rest later?
Yes, but it's unusual and requires planning. You can ask for 50 "priority" images (your favorite moments) in 2 weeks, then the full gallery in 4 weeks. This means two editing passes and two deliveries, which our team can arrange. Mention this before your shoot so we note it.
What if I'm unhappy with the edited photos?
We have a 30-day review period after delivery. If color, skin tone, or editing doesn't match your expectations, our lead editor re-edits that image at no extra cost. We've rarely had this issue because we share sample edits during booking. Major issues (wrong outfit selected, wrong location graded) are discussed within the first week.
Do you edit photos differently for prints vs. social media?
Yes. Print-ready files are higher contrast and slightly warmer; social media JPEGs are optimized for phone screens and Instagram algorithms. Tell us your primary use during booking, and we deliver that version. If you need both, we prepare each separately, adding 2–3 days.
